Radcliffe | 1996 Land Rover Defender 110 300TDI

Jason’s take on this 1996 Land Rover Defender 110 300TDI.

This one was built by Blake Radcliffe, and if you know Defenders, that name means something. The 300TDI is the engine everybody wants — it’s the sweet spot in the TDI lineup, more refined than the 200TDI but simpler than the TD5. 111 horsepower doesn’t sound like much, but the torque comes on early and it’ll pull this thing up just about anything. Five-speed manual, five-door wagon body, finished in blue. The 300TDI Defender is the one that earned the reputation — it’s the Land Rover that built the legend. If you’re looking for a Defender that actually delivers on the fantasy, this is the spec.
