Veloce | 2000 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5

Jason’s take on this 2000 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5.

Here’s the thing about this truck — it’s not a refresh, it’s a full off-frame build. Everything came apart and went back together properly, and it was done for a client on Nantucket, which tells you the bar: salt air, coastal roads, and someone who wasn’t going to tolerate a rattly old Land Rover. The TD5 diesel is the engine these trucks should have left the factory with — torquey, characterful, and dead reliable once sorted. Monticello Red is one of those Land Rover colors that doesn’t photograph nearly as well as it looks in person, and it’s sitting on proper NAS wheels.

Inside it’s custom leather with wood accent details, which turns what’s usually a spartan truck into somewhere you actually want to sit. The restoration work is already done, which means you skip the part where you spend two years chasing rust and go straight to driving it. It’s sorted, it’s dialed, and it’s ready for the beach.
